How can I check your availability and schedule a session?
Once you've selected from the available options below and clicked on "Reserve my Spot," you'll be directed to my calendar. Here, you'll see all the slots I have open. These should automatically adjust to your local time zone, but please double-check to make sure!
You can use this calendar to book either a single lesson or the first session of a package. For package bookings, I'll initially set our meetings for the same time each week. If that doesn't work for you, no worries! Just drop me a message after booking, and we'll arrange the rest of your sessions to fit your schedule. Just remember, the times you choose need to match up with the availability shown on my calendar at the moment of booking.
Are your lessons suitable for beginners?
Currently, my sessions are tailored for individuals who already have a conversational level in Polish. They're designed to fine-tune and advance your language skills rather than introduce the basics. If you're starting from scratch, I recommend beginning with a foundational course before diving into one-on-one conversation practice.
What are the technical requirements?
Device: A stationary setup, like a desktop, laptop, or tablet, is ideal. Phones might work, but their small screens could make it challenging to follow along with note-taking and other visuals.
Quiet Environment: For the benefit of both student and instructor, please choose a calm setting for your lessons. Noise not only distracts but can also affect audio quality, so places like parks or noisy cafes might not be ideal. I appreciate your understanding and respect for a conducive learning atmosphere.
Webcam and Microphone: Built-in devices usually suffice, but consider using a headset or headphones, especially if your computer's fan is loud. This helps minimize background noise and protects your instructor’s ear drums.
Stable Internet Connection: Ensure you have a reliable internet connection to avoid disruptions during our sessions. A strong Wi-Fi signal or a wired connection can make a significant difference in the smoothness of our communication.
Are the lessons recorded?
Typically, no. From my experience, students rarely revisit a full 60-minute unscripted video—it's time-consuming and can be overwhelming. Plus, there's the hassle of storage and the added pressure students might feel when recorded. That said, if you feel a recording would benefit your learning, let's talk about it at the beginning of the session to see how I can accommodate your needs.
How will I receive my preparatory material?
Once you've reserved your session, you'll receive an email within 24 hours with login instructions. You'll be able to access your personalized learning portal, where all your preparatory materials are neatly organized and new content is added after each session.
What's your cancellation policy, and can I reschedule a booked lesson?
Life's unpredictable, I get it! 😊 If something comes up and you need to change our lesson time, just give me a heads-up more than 24 hours before we're set to meet, and we can reschedule without any fuss or extra fees. Try to give me as much notice as possible though, I’ll do the same for you.
If it's less than 24 hours, the charge for the lesson sticks, but if it's a real emergency, hit me up. We'll figure something out together.
For cancellations, if you give more than 24 hours' notice, you'll receive a full refund for an individual lesson.
In case of no-shows, refunds aren't available, but a quick message beforehand can help us avoid this situation.
For package deals, if you decide to cancel after you’ve started taking classes, I'll refund half the value of the remaining sessions in your package.
And it goes both ways - if I ever need to cancel or miss our session unexpectedly at the last minute, I'll make it right by adding an extra session to your package, ensuring you get the full value of your investment in your language journey.
How long do I have to use my package sessions?
Your 5x60 minute session package is designed to be completed within 5 weeks, allowing for a session each week to maintain momentum in your learning. However, understanding that schedules can fluctuate, there's a default 10-week period from the date of the first lesson to offer some flexibility for rescheduling. Beyond this period, extensions are subject to my discretion. It's crucial for me to maintain a schedule that allows me to support all my students effectively. This means I can't keep time slots open indefinitely, as it impacts my ability to plan and provide for everyone. I appreciate your understanding as we work together to make the most of our time.
I can't find a suitable time slot. What can I do?
It's totally understandable that finding the perfect time for one-on-one sessions can be tricky, especially with busy schedules or time zone differences. But don't worry, your journey to Polish proficiency doesn't have to hit pause. Why not explore Polish Conversation Lab in the meantime? It's a program for people who want routine but can't commit to weekly zoom calls.
